BIO
KATHY GRAIVIER
Kathy is a writer and director who lives in Atlanta. She recently received her Master's in Film and Television from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Her graduate thesis film was selected by her professors to represent SCAD in the upcoming 2026 festival season. It was submitted to 15 festivals around the country in the short film comedy category.
My inspiration for storytelling started with Improv. Improv helped me to become a better storyteller as I had to develop tight storylines with physicality so that our performances were not just two talking heads. When that came together on stage, there was a feeling of euphoria, and the audience felt it too. After taking my son to college, I decided to go back to school myself and follow my dream of translating my story ideas into scripts and screenplays.
My strengths are writing stories about human connections and emotions with surprise endings. I love being able to envision my ideas from script to screen to a film. My goal is for the story to be a conversation starter long after the credits have rolled.
The motto from my latest film is 'Be Bold', and I strive to do that not only in my creative work but also in my life.
